Gorkha Nepal

Gorkha is known for its regiment. Well everybody knows how brave Nepalese Gurkhas are. They are not afraid of death, and they are unbeatable in a war.

There are famous sayings of the powerful chancellor of Germany, Adolf Hitler. He had said, if he had the Gorkha armies with him, he could win the world. He also had said that if someone says that he is not afraid of death then he ether is lying or he is Gorkhali. Hence, It is indeed a glorious history for us to have such brave Ancestors.

Shah Dynasty

Gorkha has a great history. The Gorkha Kingdom was established by Dravya Shah back in 1559. Prithvi Narayan Shah was the last king of Gorkha who was a great emperor and had established unbreakable Nepal. Before, Prithvi Narayan Shah’s empire, Nepal was divided into small kingdoms. The main reason behind Nepal’s unity was Pritivinarayan Shah who defeated other small kingdom and established a large unified and unbreakable Kingdom.

Places to Visit in Gorkha.

Gorkha Palace

The old Gorka’s royal palace, Goraknath temple are the main attractions of Gorkha. However, Gorkha palace was destroyed in 2015 but Goraknath temple and Kalika temple are still open for the visitors without any entrance charges.

Rangamahal in a Palace was a place where people use to worship on a spacious day called Bijaya Dashmi, they also used to play Holi there.

The lower palace(tallo darbar) is the starting point of Manashlu himal and Ganesh Himal Trekking.

Manakamana Temple

Manakamana also is a main attraction of Gorkha. Manakamana is a sacred place of Hindu goddess Bhagwati. Manakamana comprises of two words that are Mana means heart and Kamana means wishes, and there is a belief that Goddes Vagwati grants the wishes of people who visit there.

To get to Manakamana You can ride the cable car from Kurintar, which will definitely provide you a pleasant and thrilling experience with a beautiful view of mountains.

Ganesh Himal

Another attraction point of Gorkha is trekking to Ganesh himal. Ganesh himal stands between Manashlu himal and Budi gandaki valley. You can have trek from Gatlng to Ganesh base camp and explore the valley. You can enjoy spectacular scenery along with fire camps which indeed is the best memory to have in your life.
